HawkEye

HawkEye is an optical and computing payload for the detection of anomalous materials. It is suitable for drone mounting, handheld use or as an unattended ground sensor.

In modern military and security operations, detecting camouflaged personnel, equipment and concealed threats remains a critical challenge. Falconers is addressing this gap with HawkEye, an advanced multispectral sensing payload with onboard material property analysis and anomaly detection algorithms. Unlike thermal imagers that rely on heat signatures or shape-based methods to detect targets, HawkEye uses ambient light to identify subtle but indicative spectral differences.

HawkEye combines multispectral sensing technology with sophisticated onboard algorithms that analyze material properties in real-time, enabling anomaly detection beyond conventional thermal or shape-based methods. This ensures enhanced intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and targeting capabilities, significantly improving the detection of well-concealed threats and "footprints" that other sensors miss.

Existing electro-optical sensor suites face growing challenges due to rapidly evolving counter-ISR technologies. HawkEye anticipates and proactively addresses these limitations, ensuring sustained ISR and targeting effectiveness.

The HawkEye development project is partially funded by an Estonian Ministry of Defence development grant.
